Today UNiTE Communications is pleased to announce the launch of it’s newest offering, UNiTE Hosted PBX. This new service allows you to say goodbye to your phone company, as well as put your obsolete phone equipment out of service. UNiTE’s Hosted PBX bypasses the phone company by routing your calls via a digital IP connection and not the traditional copper wire. The “brains” of the UNiTE Hosted PBX are hosted centrally; This allows UNiTE to always offer you the latest and greatest of features available, which means that your phone system will not become obsolete, and you never have to think about a system breaking down, or maintenance issues. Everything is managed centrally by UNiTE, who provided managed telecom solutions for over 25 years. UNiTE Hosted PBX allows your staff to be part of the same phone system even of you have multiple offices, or you each work out of your own offices, anywhere in the world. UNiTE Hosted PBX can be configured the way the works best for your company. For more information on UNiTE Hosted PBX visit http://www.unite.ca/solutions/unite-hosted-pbx/ or contact your UNiTE Account Manager at 866-UNiTE ME

UNiTE Communications is pleased to announce that today they have launched a new service that allows Canadians to have a telephone number in any one of over 1600 Cities in the United States.. UNITE can add UNITED STATES telephone numbers to existing UNiTE Accounts, add UNITED STATES numbers to Canadian mobile phone accounts, add a UNITED STATES number to Canadian business lines, home lines, etc. The best part is, there is only one low monthly flat rate per U.S. Number. There are NO LONG DISTANCE CHARGES. It’s like having a local number. Unite has also announced that U.S. numbers ordered before October 31st 2010, will be billed at a 50% discount off the regular rate for as long as you own that number. Unite is also waiving activation fees until Sept 30th 2010. Please contact your UNiTE Rep or the sales department for more details or to order.

The new HST is being implemented on July 1st 2010. The HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) is a value added sales tax that combines PST and GST in a given province. Starting July 1st, 2020, UNiTE is required to collect the federally administered HST for customers located in HST enable provinces.

Business Clients who currently pay PST on Unite’s services in Ontario will actually realize an 8% decrease in the cost of their services. Previously the PST was paid by the client and not recoverable, however, because HST is a “flow through” tax, just like GST, HST paid is deducted from HST collected, and therefore it is not an expense. Therefore companies in HST regions will realize a price reduction equal to that of the current PST. Provinces without HST will be charged the same total amount of taxes they are currently charges and will therefore see no increase for the cost of services.
